Speaker Pelosi voted to create 32 new federal programs at a cost of more than $136 billion, and her government takeover of health care would create another 111 new boards, commissions, panels, and health care bureaucracies. Leader Boehner and Republican leaders came up with a plan to save taxpayers more than $375 billion by consolidating and eliminating federal programs, and imposing spending caps on Congress.
